Taylor Swift is back with a brand-new song — and it has fans feeling all the nostalgia. ❤️
Her latest release, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” is a country-tinged track recorded for Disney Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5 (in theatres June 19).
Written alongside longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, the song blends a throwback country sound with Swift’s signature grown-up storytelling — a perfect mix of old and new Taylor.
Swift shared the inspiration behind the track, saying:
“We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods.”
The song is released through Walt Disney Records instead of Swift’s usual label — but here’s the big headline:

“I Knew It, I Knew You” centers on Jessica Jane “Jessie” Pride — the beloved cowgirl doll from Toy Story.
Fans will remember Jessie’s emotional backstory as a vintage pull-string cowgirl rag-doll who was donated to charity after Emily outgrew her – but this new song seems to hint at something hopeful… maybe even a long-awaited reunion. Footage from a trailer released in Japan seem to support that theory.
Lyrically, it’s all about reconnecting with someone you thought you’d lost:
