1 In 7 Canadians Support Spending Tax Dollars To Protect Endangered Plants and Animals

According to a recent Ipsos Reid poll, 90 percent of Canadians think preventing the extinction of wild plants and animals is important.

80 percent of respondents think land owners have a moral obligation to not harm endangered animals and plants on their property, and also think the government should stop industrial development in certain areas.

1 in 7 Canadians support spending tax dollars to protect endangered plants and animals.

Over the last decade, the federal government has spent $500 million dollars to protect diverse species in Canada.

45 percent think that amount is not enough, while 43 percent think it is.

Five percent thought $500 million was too much to spend.
