Another charity in our area will be feeling the generosity of the 100 Women Who Care of Greater Saint John, as the philanthropic group meets for the 20th time this week.
The group meets for an hour, hears three 5-minute presentations by local charities, votes for one, then each woman writes a cheque for $100 to the winner. The last charity to be chosen was AIDS Saint John which received $23,000 at its meeting in December.
As part of the meeting, AIDS Saint John will be presenting to the group to tell them how they used the donated money.
To date, the group has raised nearly $456,000 for local charities. The latest meeting is happening on Tuesday at the Lily Lake Pavillion from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
