1 killed in collision in Upper Sackville

One person had died following a motor vehicle collision in Upper Sackville.

RCMP from Sackville, Sackville Fire Department, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Department of Justice and Public Safety and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to the incident at around 11:30 a.m. Friday on Route 940.

Two vehicles were involved.

RCMP says one vehicle is believed to have crossed the centreline and came into collision with an oncoming one.

A 77-year-old man from Midgic, who was the lone occupant in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a passenger of the other were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A New Brunswick RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist and the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office are also assisting with the investigation.
