Contractors Express Concerns Over Enhanced Energy Savings Program

A low-income energy savings program was the focus of meetings held on Monday in Moncton.

The program offers free mini-split heat pumps along with installation to qualified homeowners.

Several contractors met with NB Power representatives to express concerns over a decision to award the work to only one company.

In 2019, NB Power said Greenfoot Energy Solutions submitted bids in all four zones and was successful based on requirements and pricing.

It adds that contractors will have an opportunity to bid for an expanded program in the weeks ahead.

There’s no word on the outcome of the meetings held Monday morning.
