Annual Dramafest for N.B. students underway in Fredericton

High school students are getting set to take the stage over the next three days at the 2025 Dramafest.

It’s an annual festival featuring 1200 students from 40 New Brunswick schools.

Middle school students are wrapping up their time today in Fredericton. The Festival started for them on May 3.

By May 10, there will have been 58 plays performed on the campus of St. Thomas University.

They include improv, devised theatre, and musicals.

Students are also participating in various workshops led by performers from across the country.

This year’s workshop themes include creative movement, monologues, ensemble work, script writing, and improv.

Recognition awards are also handed out in categories including outstanding actors, directors, costumes and sets.
