We’ll get a bit of a break from the extreme heat on Thursday and may even see some rain.
Heat warnings have ended, but not before breaking a few more temperature records in the province.
Fundy National Park reached a high of 29.6 degrees yesterday, surpassing the previous record of 28.3 set in 1974.
The Miramichi region hit a high of 36.3 degrees, crushing an old record of 34.4 from 1876.
Smoke is still causing some air quality concerns and reduced visibility in regions including Irishtown, Miramichi, and the Acadian Peninsula.
Environment Canada says special air quality advisories remain in effect.
This could especially impact those aged 65 and older, if you’re pregnant, infants and young children, those with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and if you work outdoors. Avoid strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.
Limit time outdoors, consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.
