A cooler morning temperature-wise across the province, but wildfires continue to burn.
As of 9:15 am Saturday, the New Brunswick Fire Watch states there are 30 active fires including nine being patrolled, one under control, nine contained, five being monitored, and six out of control.
The Old Field Road fire in the Miramichi region has burned over 1400 hectares. The Beaver Lake Stream fire, which is west of Miramichi, has burned 100 hectares, and the fire 215 near Bathurst has consumed 150 hectares.
A fire in Irishtown remains contained at 45 hectares.
An evacuation advisory for Lavillette was issued at 9:15 pm Friday and remains in place.
Residents are advised to be prepared to evacuate on short notice.
A province-wide fire ban remains in effect, and all crown land is also closed due to an extreme wildfire hazard.
Air quality statement ended
Environment Canada has ended its special air quality statements for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick. Smoke is no longer expected or has moved out of this region.
Special air quality statement remains for Miramichi and area. Local smoke concentrations will vary with small changes to wind speed or direction.
