IWK Health scholarship for Kennebecasis Valley H.S. student

A New Brunswick graduate has received a scholarship through IWK Health.

Vishwa Pancholi of Kennebecasis Valley High School in Quispamsis receives $2500.

As a part of her application, she submitted an essay using scientific evidence to explain a specific area of health and innovation.

Pancholi’s focused on health care accessibility.

“By researching digital health care in post-secondary, I want to help create solutions that contribute to the well-being of children, women and families in the Maritimes,” Pancholi wrote. “Telemedicine, remote monitoring and better policies could make it so that no one has to choose between travelling for hours or skipping medical care.”

She’ll be pursuing her education in the Medical Sciences program at Dalhousie University.

Avery MacNeil, who graduated from Riverview High School in Sydney, Nova Scotia and Kayla Storey from Bluefield High School in North Wiltshire, Prince Edward Island, were also chosen to receive scholarships.

IWK Health provides one in each of the Maritime provinces for students who have chosen to pursue their education in a health-related field in a Maritime post-secondary institution.
