Forest fires continue to burn in New Brunswick

We’re not out of the woods yet when it comes to forest fires.

According to the Government of New Brunswick’s Fire Watch page, three fires are currently burning out of control.

The biggest between Chipman and Canaan Forks had burned around 410 hectares as of Monday afternoon.

Another fire near Pointe-Sapin has consumed around 27 hectares, while a third northwest of McAdam in the western part of the province has burned half a hectare.

A fourth fire along the Canada-U.S. border near Saint Croix is now contained after having burned 1.5 hectares.

New Brunswick’s forest fire season runs until Oct. 31.
