Winter will be here before we know it, and that means those experiencing homelessness will be left out in the cold.
The province says there are fifteen emergency shelters and one recuperative shelter available across the province.
Most are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and those that are not may remain open around the clock during periods of extreme cold beginning Dec. 1.
Fredericton
· Victoria Health Centre (Ironwood Resource Centre), 65 Brunswick St., open 24 hours a day
· St. John House, 65 Brunswick St., open 24 hours a day
· Grace House, 275 Brunswick St., open 24 hours a day
· Oak Centre, 1216 Regent St., open 24 hours a day
Moncton
· Lion’s Centre (Bridge to Home), 473 St. George St., open 24 hours a day
· House of Nazareth, 74 Albert St., open 24 hours a day
· Harvest House Atlantic, 182 High St., open 24 hours a day
· Monarch Landing, 55 Mark Ave., open 24 hours a day
· Recuperative Centre, 473 St. George St., open 24 hours a day
Saint John
· The Foundation Centre, 102 Waterloo St., open 24 hours a day
· Outflow Ministry Inc., 162 Waterloo St., open 24 hours a day
· Coverdale Centre for Women, 148 Waterloo St., open 24 hours a day
· Rothesay Avenue Emergency Shelter, 94 Rothesay Ave., open 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Bathurst
· Bathurst Emergency Shelter, 753 Assaff Dr., open 24 hours a day
Miramichi
· Miramichi Adult Emergency Shelter, 316 Regina St., open 24 hours a day
St. Stephen
· Lighthouse Lodge, 9 Main St., open 24 hours a day
These shelters provide a total of 500 beds for those who are experiencing homelessness.
