Fire has damaged a residence on Prince William Street in Saint John’s uptown.

Saint John Fire Deputy Chief Ed Moyer says they arrived at around 11:38 pm on Monday to find fire coming from a third-storey window.

Firefighters managed to contain the flames to the room where the fire started.

Twenty-one firefighters from the Saint John department helped to battle the blaze.

They were on scene for several hours.

A cause is under investigation by Fire Prevention and Saint John Police.
