Seizure of Contraband From Dorchester Penitentiary

Over $341, 000 thousand dollars worth of drugs and other items have been found at Dorchester Penitentiary.

Correctional Service of Canada says on November 29th, a package containing items including THC, Buprenorphine-Naloxone pills, fentanyl pills, tobacco, methamphetamine, a cell phone and a charger.

CSC uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions. These tools include ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.

Police were notified and an investigation is underway.
