16 years in prison for human trafficking, sexual assault

A Sussex man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after being charged in a sexual assault investigation in the community.

Colton Sproul was arrested in December 2023 following a month-long investigation by the RCMP.

Mounties said they were looking into several “serious offences,” including drug trafficking, human trafficking and sexual assault.

Sproul was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty to several charges, including child luring, possessing child pornography, trafficking a person under 18, sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual assault with a weapon, uttering threats and failing to comply with release conditions.
