2 arrested after man seriously hurt in Charlotte County crash

Mounties believe alcohol and cannabis were factors in a Charlotte County crash that left a man with serious injuries.

Police said an SUV left Route 127 in Bocabec and landed on its roof at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Those in the vehicle had fled by the time officers arrived, RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday.

“A short time later, police located four individuals who were all occupants of the vehicle,” the release said.

A 21-year-old man from Bocabec was arrested and issued a license suspension after failing a roadside screening test. A 19-year-old man was also arrested at the scene.

Both have since been released and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Police said a 24-year-old man, who was a passenger of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. George RCMP at 506-755-1130 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
