2 killed after side-by-side collides with pickup truck

Two people have died after their side-by-side collided with a pickup truck in central New Brunswick.

RCMP said the collision happened on Little Southwest Road in Little Southwest, west of Miramichi, around 6:35 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators believe a side-by-side heading south crossed into the northbound lane and hit the truck head-on.

A 57-year-old man from Tracadie and a 62-year-old man from Saint-Irénée died at the scene from their injuries.

The driver and lone person in the pickup truck was not physically hurt, said police.

Police are still piecing together the cause of the crash.
