2 men killed in Coles Island crash

Two men have died after their vehicle left the road and struck several trees in Coles Island.

Mounties said they responded to the scene on Route 2 around 1:20 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators believe the driver lost control of the westbound vehicle, which left the roadway and hit several trees.

A 26-year-old and a 22-year-old, both from British Columbia, died at the scene.

Three other passengers in the vehicle were taken to the hospital with various injuries.

Police are still piecing together the cause of the crash.
