A 57-year-old man was charged on Monday in the 2016 death of Tammy Boratynec.
Mark Andrew Carty was charged with second-degree murder during a brief court appearance in Saint John.
Carty did not enter a plea and will stay in custody before a scheduled court appearance on July 23.
The charge resulted from the investigation into the homicide of Boratynec on July 17, 2016.
The 43-year-old’s body was found in the backyard of a home on Melrose Street in east Saint John.
