Human remains found along river bank in Saint John

Saint John police are investigating after human remains were found along the banks of the Saint John River.

Police said first responders were called to an area east of Reversing Falls just before 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.

The remains have been identified as a 47-year-old man from Saint John who had not been reported missing.

“The next of kin has been notified and the deceased’s identity will not be released at this time,” police said in a news release on Wednesday.

Officials said the cause, manner, and time of death remain under investigation at this time.
