KV deputy police chief retiring

The deputy chief of the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force (KRPF) is retiring on Friday.

Jeff Giggey spent more than three decades working with the municipal force, which polices Quispamsis and Rothesay.

Giggey worked his way up through the ranks to inspector and was named deputy chief in 2016.

“Deputy Chief Giggey’s tenure at the KRPF is marked by a significant enhancement in the quality of criminal investigations, reflecting his deep commitment to excellence and justice,” the force said in a statement.

“His steadfast belief in preventing and solving crime has contributed to a low crime rate and a high solving rate for the communities he served with such pride.”

The force’s new deputy chief is expected to be announced next week.
