Teen arrested in assault investigation on Prince William Street

Saint John police have arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with an assault involving a weapon that took place earlier this week.

Officers responded to a report of a fight in the 78-block of Prince William Street on Tuesday around 10:43 p.m..

Police said a video of the incident has been circulating over social media, showing youths involved in a physical altercation where weapons were allegedly used.

A nearby business also sustained damage when a window was broken during the disturbance.

Officers arrived within minutes, but the individuals had already fled the scene on foot.

Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on Thursday after a fight involving weapons.

He’s accused of assault and not following a previous youth sentence.

He appeared in court on Friday. The 17-year-old remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing at a later date.
