Nineteen dogs taken from a puppy mill in Albert County are getting a second chance at life.
The malnourished dogs are being cared for in foster homes, through the Greater Moncton SPCA.
Spokesperson Stacy Picard says overall they are doing well, “They’re gaining weight. There are a few minor things that some of the dogs are afraid of. Some are afraid of men, some are afraid of the garbage can. Just random things that might frighten them, but they are learning to adjust”
The dogs were surrendered by their owners at the end of March, with varying degrees of health issues. They range in age from five months and up.
There are some Huskies, Corgis, and Beagles. She suggests you do your homework on the breed before making a decision to adopt.
Picard says there’s no firm date as to when they’ll be available for adoption,”Some of them are going to be adopted out sooner then others. They are al going to go through the same process, but some are going to evolve faster than others. It’s just keeping an eye on our website to see if they are up for adoption or not.”
