Sobeys ready to drop Air Miles, moves to new rewards program

You soon won’t be able to build up points for your next trip by shopping at Sobeys.

The Nova Scotia based grocer is getting set to drop Air Miles in exchange for a new rewards program.

They are teaming up with Scene+, which is run by Cineplex and Scotiabank.

Scene+ members will be able to earn and redeem points at the majority of the grocer’s supermarkets, including Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland, IGA, FreshCo, Needs, Thrifty Foods, Les Marches Tradition, Rachelle Bery and Lawtons Drugs.

It means you’ll be able to go to the movies and use those points to buy groceries and vice-versa.

The Scene+ program will be accepted at Sobeys and other stores in Atlantic Canada later this year and will be expanded across the country next year.
