Another First Degree Murder Charge Laid In Teen’s Death

A sixth man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of an 18-year-old Moncton teen.

Twenty-four-year-old Nicholas Joseph James McAvoy, from Irishtown, was arrested on July 13. He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Thursday by way of tele-remand.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 25.

Five other individuals from the Moncton area were charged with first-degree murder in connection with Joedin Leger’s death:

All six accused are remanded into custody.

RCMP was called to a home on Logan Lane in Moncton on April 25th.

Leger was rushed to the hospital where he later died of gunshot wounds.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have information regarding this matter is asked to contact the RCMP MCU or Crimestoppers.
