A Shediac man is New Brunswick’s newest millionaire.
Clarence Gallant is the latest $1 million winner in the Lotto 6/49 Gold ball draw through Atlantic Lottery Corporation.
He thought his partner, Diane, was setting him up for disappointment when she checked their tickets following the Feb. 18 draw.
“She screamed, “I think we won,’” Gallant said. Then he replied, “Don’t do that to me, it’s too hard on my heart.’”
The ticket was checked and double-checke before they really believed that their numbers matched and the reality of their big win sunk in.
“My heart was pounding like you wouldn’t believe,” Gallant said. “My heart has never pounded like that before.”
Gallant and his partner plan to use their prize money to buy a new home and help their family members.
The winning Lotto 6/49 ticket was purchased at Circle K in Shediac, N.B. The retailer will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
