Pneumococcal vaccine available now in N.B.

If you are over the age of 65, you’re reminded to get your pneumococcal vaccine.

The free shot can be booked online now for participating pharmacies.

It helps prevent various illnesses from ear and sinus to pneumonia and bloodstream infections.

“This winter has brought with it many illnesses like flu and RSV as well as COVID-19,” said Dr. Jennifer Russell, chief medical officer of health. “Vaccination remains the best way to prevent severe symptoms of COVID-19, influenza and pneumococcal disease.”

More information about the vaccine is available online or by calling 1-833-437-1424.
