3 arrests in cocaine trafficking investigation

Three people have been arrested as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in Saint John.

Saint John police said they launched Project Volcano in May with a focus on cocaine trafficking.

On Thursday, police arrested a 31-year-old man, a 46-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman for various drug trafficking-related charges.

Following the arrests, officers executed search warrants at three locations in the city.

They seized roughly 200 grams of cocaine and 200 various pills, which police said have an estimated street value of $20,000, along with around $25,000 in cash.

The three accused remain in custody and are due to appear in court on Friday, police said.
