Fire officials say three pets have died after a noon hour house fire in Grand Bay-Westfield.
Crews were called to Nelson Street near Inglewood Drive at around 12:20 p.m. Thursday.
The first crews on the scene found a home heavily involved in the fire, according to the fire department.
Firefighters brought the flames under control quickly but the home sustained significant damage.
No one was home at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A GoFundMe page to help support the family who lost everything in this fire has been set up. As of Friday morning, it had already raised over $10,000.
It asks that clothing, shoes, books or toys, be dropped off at 4 Southwest Street, in Grand Bay-Westfield. The children are 8 and 9-year-old girls who wear sizes 8-10, a 6-year-old boy in sizes 6-7 and an 11-month-old boy who is size 12-18 months. Small and medium size women’s clothing and men’s medium and large-size clothes are also needed.
