35-year-old man arrested after incidents in Rockwood Park

Police in Saint John have arrested a 35-year-old man after alleged incidents in Rockwood Park.

Officers responded to the park on Saturday morning.

According to a release, a 41-year-old man had been confronted by a man in the area with a knife, and a 46-year-old man had been assaulted.

The victim was taken to the Saint John Regional Hospital to be treated for injuries that were not described as serious.

Investigators closed the park as they searched for the accused, who was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon.

Members of the Saint John Police Emergency Tactical Services, a drone operator, as well as a canine unit from Kennebecasis Regional Police Force, attended the scene and conducted an extensive search of the park and surrounding areas.
