New Brunswick health officials reported the province’s 46th death related to COVID-19 on Sunday.
Public Health said a person over the age of 90 in the Fredericton health zone died as a result of the virus.
It is the first COVID-related death reported in the province since June 12.
“I join all New Brunswickers in extending heartfelt condolences to those who are mourning the loss of their loved one,” Health Minister Dorothy Shephard said in a news release.
One new travel-related case was also announced in the Fredericton region involving someone 19 and under.
There has been one new recovery since Saturday and the number of active cases has fallen to 21.
Four people are currently in the hospital across the province but no one is in intensive care.
Another 8,400 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were given in New Brunswick on Saturday, including more than 7,700 second doses.

Meanwhile, more than 8,400 additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in New Brunswick on Saturday.
Updated figures from Public Health show more than 7,700 second doses and nearly 700 first doses were given.
The number of eligible New Brunswickers who are fully vaccinated has climbed by just over one percentage point to 39.6 per cent.
A total of 78.3 per cent of residents aged 12 and older have at least one dose, up slightly from 78.2 per cent on Saturday.
Seventy-five per cent of eligible New Brunswickers ages 12 and older must be fully vaccinated before the province moves to the green phase.
Officials in the province hope that will happen by New Brunswick Day, Aug. 2.
