4 youths arrested after alleged Saint John shooting

Four youths have been arrested after an early morning shooting in Saint John’s south end, according to police.

First responders were called to the 200-block of Duke Street shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

“On arrival, officers located a 30-year-old man who had allegedly been shot,” police said in a news release.

The victim was treated in the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

Police said two 15-year-old boys and two 16-year-old boys were arrested shortly after.

One 15-year-old was allegedly in possession of a firearm, according to police.

All four remained in custody as of late Tuesday morning. No charges had been laid as police continue to investigate.
