American man facing several sex-related charges involving youth in Moncton

A man from New Hampshire is facing charges in connection with a child luring incident in Greater Moncton.

RCMP says a 24-year-old man was arrested on July 11th at a Mountain Road Hotel, where a man was found with a youth under 16.

An investigation found the man was speaking with the youth prior to crossing the United States border into Canada.

Charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation, child luring and making child pornography have been laid.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on July 24 for a bail hearing.

“Parents are encouraged to talk to their children, and be aware of the sites they visit online,” says Sgt. Hebert. “There are many resources available to parents to help them have conversations with their children about staying safe online.”
