Celebrate National Acadian Day in Dieppe

More than 15,000 people are expected to attend Quinze Aout celebrations in Dieppe.

Community Officer Jeremie Robichaud says August 15 is the 40th anniversary of National Acadian Day in that city.

“We’re very proud to be able to invite everyone to our celebrations. We’re the largest community in the world and we want nothing more than to welcome everyone that wants to be a part of it,” Robichaud says.

They’re hoping to see a higher number of participants this year because it is the anniversary.

“We are offering musical performances from 3 pm until midnight at the MusiqART site, so we’re very excited about that. This year we have four bands that are coming and it’s an even bigger event than the years before,” Robichaud adds.

A number of family activities, including inflatable games, children’s tattoos and balloon sculptors, will be available until 7 p.m.

There will also be food vendors and a cash bar on site.
