Hunt underway for dog at crash site near Havelock

The search continues for a beagle in the area of a fatal crash near Havelock.

The multi-vehicle collision happened on Tuesday night on the Trans Canada Highway in Kinnear Settlement.

According to a social media post, there have been a few sightings of the dog circling back to the collision site near mile marker 418, on Highway 2.

Maritime Animal Hospital is working with a group called Angels Rescue to help locate the dog.

They ask if you see him, do not chase or yell his name.

It’s suggested that you contact them immediately for further steps if he is spotted.

The best numbers to call are 506-389-2121 or 506-378-1851.

A 25-year-old Riverview man was tragically killed in the collision. His partner works at the Maritime Animal Hospital.

RCMP says the driver of a westbound truck lost control after blowing a tire, crossing the median and colliding with an eastbound vehicle.

The Riverview man was behind the wheel of the first impacted vehicle.

A separate collision occurred when the tire hit the windshield of a third vehicle.

A second driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
