More money for Enhanced Energy Savings Program

An additional $30 million is being invested in the Enhanced Energy Savings Program

The provincial government says this will assist more homeowners and renters in making their homes more energy efficient and managing their monthly energy bills.

To date, 3327 homeowners have benefited from the program, and work is underway on another 1800 homes.

The government has already allocated $70 million to the program, which offers energy efficiency upgrades and could include a free mini-split heat pump and upgraded insulation, along with free installation to homeowners who use electric baseboard or oil heating and have a combined gross household income under $70,000.

Homeowners participating in the Enhanced Energy Savings Program can expect to reduce their energy expenditures by about $500 annually by adding a mini-split heat pump and upgrading their insulation.
