Representative Steve Scalise from Louisiana was reportedly shot in the hip in the dugout and has since been airlifted to hospital.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer tweeted both the President and Vice-President are aware of the situation.
There are also reports up to 5 people have been shot and a suspect is in custody.

President Trump tweeted that Scalise was badly injured but will recover calling him a true friend and a patriot.
