500 Volunteer Hours Put Into Making Bike Skills Park

Mountain bikers can now improve in a new skills park open in Rockwood park.
It’s located off the Trans Canada Trail and you can find it using Fisher Lakes Drive near the squirrel feeder parking lot.
Rockwood Park Naturalist Emilie Murphy says it was the brainchild of a few members of the Saint John cycling club.
She says they approached the City of Saint John and they provided a location, money and materials.
Most parks like this would cost $50,000 to build but with the extensive volunteer effort the total cost for the city was about $4,000.
