UPDATE: Missing 75-year-old man located

A positive ending to the search for a missing man.

A 75-year-old man was located on Sunday night, conscious and alert.

Saint John Police say he was found at around 5:50pm by a Justice and Public Safety K9 team.

First responders are continuing to work diligently at this hour to reach him in a heavily wooded area several kilometres southwest of Henderson Lake to have him assessed by medical professionals.

Members from River Valley, York, Charlotte and Fundy Ground Search and Rescue teams, the Saint John Police, the Saint John Fire Department, New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety, and the Kennebecasis Regional Police Force have been searching the area of Henderson Lake since Friday night when he was reported missing.
