Inmate assaulted at Atlantic Institution

An inmate assault at the Atlantic Institution in Renous is being investigated.

Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says the incident happened on Monday.

The victim was taken to an outside hospital to receive treatment.

RCMP and CSC say those responsible have been identified, and appropriate action has been taken.

The Correctional Service of Canada said it will review the circumstances.
