Bruce Fitch will not reoffer in upcoming provincial election

Longtime Progressive Conservative MLA Bruce Fitch will not run again in the upcoming New Brunswick election.

The current Minister of Health and Riverview MLA released a statement on Friday morning.

“After 21 years of serving as MLA for the riding of Riverview, I have decided not to re-offer in the upcoming provincial election.”

Fitch also stated he is honoured for the close to 12 years in cabinet and two years as interim PCNB Party Leader, and for serving 14 years as a member of Riverview Town Council, including five as Mayor.

“After the last election, I made a promise to my family that I wouldn’t run again in the next campaign. For someone like me, who loves to campaign, as the election got closer, it was tempting to stay and fight ‘just one more time’,: Fitch adds.

He says he plans to support the next Progressive Conservative candidate in the upcoming election and help them to win the next election.
