Information needed after assault at encampment

Saint John police are looking for assistance after an alleged assault.

At around 1 p.m. Sunday, police say a man and a woman were assaulted with a chemical irritant.

Police say the man stumbled out onto Thorne Avenue and the woman was found at a nearby encampment, which is where police believe the incident happened.

Both were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s believed the suspects were known to the victims.

Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with video of the incident to contact them at 506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
