Alert Ready tone to sound on Wednesday, May 8

This week, an alarm will sound on your radio, television and compatible wireless devices.

Not to worry, chances are it is only a test.

As a part of Emergency Preparedness Week, the sounder will be activated on May 8, by provincial, territorial and federal public safety authorities.

Alert Ready is designed to deliver critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians, including but not limited to tornadoes, flooding, fires and AMBER alerts. In 2023, the Alert Ready system distributed 1086 emergency alerts across Canada.

Find out HERE what time your Alert will sound.
