An injection of provincial funds is going to help improve accessibility at the uptown Saint John boardwalk.
Tourism, heritage and culture minister John Ames made the announcement of $75,000 for phase two of the North Market Wharf refurbishment project.
Stephany Peterson says the stage will become fully accessible and there’ll be an accessible, single stall gender-neutral bathroom.
“Those elements in addition to some smaller changes like re-branding to it being the Etage Market Square Boardwalk Stage so allowing for bilingualism to be reflected in the signage on the stage,” says Peterson.
Peterson says a new lighting system will give the deaf and hard of hearing an immersive experience.
