Man arrested after alleged threats and a vehicle stolen

A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery investigation.

On Saturday night, a 26-year-old woman was reportedly threatened with a knife in the 300 block of Prince Street.

Saint John Police say a fight allegedly broke out and the victim’s car keys and vehicle were stolen.

A short time later, police were called to a car crash involving the same vehicle at Water and Duke Streets, but the suspect had fled on foot.

A member of the Saint John Police Canine Unit was called to the scene to assist in the search for the suspect. During the search, K9 Maverick led police a short distance away from the scene where a 27-year-old man was taken into custody.
