Poll reveals top concerns amongst Atlantic Canadians

What issues are most important to Maritimers? Narrative Research found out.

Over 1400 residents in Atlantic Canada were polled.

The top three concerns facing Atlantic Canadians are consistent across the region, although the perceived importance varies somewhat by province.

The five most important issues in order on the list for Nova Scotia were housing, cost of living and healthcare, followed by economy and inflation.

New Brunswick’s rankings differed with healthcare topping the list, followed by the cost of living, housing, inflation and economy.

In PEI, healthcare and housing ranked in the top two spots.

“Atlantic Canadians identify a trio of most important issues – current economic conditions, health care and housing,” said Margaret Brigley, CEO & Partner, Narrative Research. “While the three issues are consistent across the region – the most important issue varies somewhat by province, and by political views, particularly in Nova Scotia.”

The random survey was conducted by phone between July 31 – August 18, 2024.
