Thousands to lace up for annual Legs for Literacy event

Legs for Literacy is an annual event that attracts thousands to downtown Moncton.

Participants choose to run or walk 5 or 10 kilometres, or a half or full marathon on October 6.

Around 1500 have already registered for the all-new routes for 2024.

Over the past 24 years, more than $800,000 has been raised for Literacy projects.

On October 5 at Riverfront Park, a family 1-kilometre walk or run is also held.

This event is also a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

This year, the goal is to raise more than $40,000.
