No one hurt after fire at old train station in Rothesay

No one was hurt after a fire at the old train station in Rothesay, Thursday afternoon.

Kennebecasis Valley Fire Chief Shawn White tells our newsroom their station got the call around 3:20 p.m. and arrived within minutes.

Smoke and fire were coming out of a window on the second floor of the heritage building and contained to one room.

Everyone got out safely, including a family pet, and fire crews were able to quickly put out the flames.

Crews spent about two hours on scene and the damage was minimal.

The fire doesn’t appear to be suspicious, but the investigation continues.
