A water main break late last night at Duke and Carmarthen in the south end is causing a lot of disruption this morning.
Fire crews were called to deal with a flooded basement. Platoon Chief Kevin Comeau says that’s when the water main break was uncovered and the water pressure caused a large section of asphalt to give way with a crater forming in the street.
No traffic is being allowed through the affected area.
There’s no water for people who live between Duke and Mecklenberg until repairs are complete.
