Wednesday Morning Sports For April 20th

Nathan Noel scored twice and Marc-Antoine Turcotte turned aside 29 shots to lead the Sea Dogs to a 6-2 win over Cape Breton in the seventh and deciding game of their second-round playoff series. The Sea Dogs will face Shawinigan starting this Friday night on the road. Games 3 and 4 will be played at Harbour Station next Tuesday and Wednesday nights starting at 7:00.

The Saint John Vitos picked up one point at the Telus Cup after a 3-3 tie with Lloydminster. The Vitos take on the North York Rangers tonight. The Rangers won 5-3 over Dartmouth and Lac St. Louis shut out Saskatoon 4-0. The Rangers and Lac St. Louis are both 2 and 0.

In the NHL playoffs, St. Louis has taken a 3 games to 1 lead over Chicago with a 4-3 win. Vladamir Tarasenko scored two goals and added one assist for the Blues….Pittsburgh leads the Rangers 2 games to 1 with a 3-1 win as Matt Cullen scored the winner in the third period…..Tampa Bay leads Detroit 3 games to 1 after a 3-2 win over Detroit…..Jonathon Drouin assisted on all three goals and Anaheim shut out Nashville 3-0 to trail 2 games to 1.

In the Majors…..Marcus Stroman allowed three runs in seven innings and Troy Tulowitzki doubled in two runs as the Blue Jays got by Baltimore 4-3…..The Red Sox had just one hit in their 3-0 loss to Tampa Bay and Oakland edged the Yankees 3-2 in 11 innings. The A’s have not lost on the road this season. In the NBA, Atlanta leads Boston 2 games to nothing after an 89-72 win and San Antonio holds a two games to nothing lead over Memphis after winning 94-68.
