Saint John Election Candidates Have Opportunity To Woo Voters Through Event

Saint John’s muncipal election candidates have a chance to woo voters through a speed-dating style event being hosted by FUSION Saint John on Thursday.

Chair John Fitzpatrick says this is their third Campaign on the Clock event for a municipal election. Candidates each have their own table and participants are splitt off into teams that rotate through and get a few minutes to interview someone who is running.

Ftizpatrick notes that because the candidates only have a few minutes they can’t have pre-rehearsed answers to questions and have to think quickly.

“People just really want to see…how [the candidates] can think on their feet,” says Fitzpatrick. “It just gives them a little more intimate type area to question them and see what they have to say.”

This is happening at the Market Square atrium in uptown Saint John. It starts with a pre-reception at 6:30pm and the actual Q&A session runs from 7pm to 8pm.
